Reframing Knowledge, Reclaiming Power

I am Dr. Marsha-Ann Scott-Black, Founder and Principal Researcher of MASB Research Consulting.
Grounded in critical criminological, socio-legal, and interdisciplinary inquiry, my work explores questions of justice, power, institutions, and lived experience.
My approach combines rigorous research and critical analysis with a commitment to understanding how systems operate, how knowledge is produced, and how established assumptions shape institutional practices and social realities.
While informed by a range of perspectives, my work is particularly grounded in Black feminist, decolonial, and intersectional approaches. Through these lenses, I seek to broaden understanding, challenge dominant narratives, and create space for knowledge, perspectives, and lived experiences that have historically been marginalized.
This is the philosophy behind MASB: Reframing Knowledge, Reclaiming Power.
The Work
MASB brings together research and consulting, writing and scholarship, speaking and teaching, and faith-based public scholarship. Building on my academic and public-sector experience, I offer research and analysis services and welcome opportunities for collaboration, speaking, and teaching.
